Bad Weather Day

Der erste Schritt für den Groundfloor
Seit einigen Tagen ist das Wetter auf Cape Breton Island nicht das Beste, dennoch hat Ray bereits mit dem Fußboden angefangen. Der Unterbau besteht aus einem sogenannten „Silent Floor“, d.h., das der Boden sehr leise sein wird und auch nicht nach einiger Zeit zu knarren anfängt.

Bad Weather Day

In der separaten Bilder Galerie kann man sehen, dass wir jetzt auch Strom auf unserem Grundstück haben. (Die Bilder Galerie ist noch nicht online). Es geht also vorwärts. Für nächste Woche ist bereits die Installation der Aussenwände geplant. Wir hoffen natürlich, dass sich das Wetter wieder bessert und die Arbeiten auch weiterhin so zügig weiter gehen.

Am Donnerstag letzter Woche habe ich noch mit Ray telefoniert und er sieht überhaupt kein Problem „Red Cove Heights“ in unserem geplanten Zeitrahmen fertigzustellen.

Gabi und ich haben jedenfalls extrem gute Laune.

Jetzt kommt doch noch ein kleiner Nachtrag:
Ich habe gerade mit Jörg und Beety in St. Peters telefoniert und erfahren, dass der Regen auch etwas Gutes hat. Da die Regenrohre schon verlegt sind, konnte man wohl sehr gut sehen, dass das Regenwasser direkt in den Atlantik läuft. Die Balken für den Dachstuhl liegen auch schon auf dem Grundstück. Ebenso wie das gesamte Holz für den Fußboden.
Ich denke, dass in den nächsten 1-2 Wochen eine Menge passieren wird.

Dieses Bild ist heute Nacht gekommen. Nur drei Tage später ist also die Betonwanne, oder auch der Crawl Space (Kriechkeller), fertig gegossen. Offensichtlich geht es jetzt Schlag auf Schlag.

Konkret heißt das, dass die Brunnenbohrung erfolgreich war. Der Bohrer ist auf 80m Tiefe gegangen und pumpt nun 9,5 Liter Wasser die Minute. Da habe ich doch extrem gute Laune. Man hätte ja auch noch auf Felsen stoßen können…

Ansonsten geht es zügig weiter. Heute haben wir den zweiten Satz Bilder bekommen. Natürlich werden wir sie, wie immer, online stellen.
Vorgestern hat uns Ray über die weiteren Schritte informiert. Leider mußten sie gegen Mittag Ihre Arbeit abbrechen, da da Wetter doch sehr zu wünschen übrig ließ. Ich denke, dass das aber auch auf den Bildern deutlich wird.
Bei der „Foundation“ wird jetzt schon die zweite Betonschicht gezogen. Es ist also nur noch eine Frage der Zeit, wann mit den Aufbauten, sprich Wänden, begonnen werden kann.
