Das ist genau die richtige Musik für ein richtig tolles Wochenende. Am besten am Lagerfeuer.
In a place you only dream of
Where your soul is always free
Silver stages, golden curtains
Filled my head, plain as can be
As a rainbow grew round the sun
All the stars I’ve love who died
Came from somewhere beyond the scene you see
These lovely people played just for me
Now if I let you see this place
Where stories all ring true
Will you let me past your face
To see what’s really you
It’s not for me I ask these questions
As though I were a king
For you have to love, believe and feel
Before the burst of tamborines take you there
(chorus)
Green grass and high tides forever
Castles of stone souls and glory
Lost faces say we adore you
As kings and queens bow and play for you
Those who don’t believe me
Find your souls and set them free
Those who do, believe and love
As time will be your key
Time and time again I’ve thanked them
For a piece of mind
They helped me find myself
Amongst the music and the rhyme
That enchants you there
(repeat chorus)

Ich bin nicht sicher, ob der Song hier bekannt ist. 4,6 Millionen Zugriffe bei YouTube sprechen aber eine deutliche Sprache. Schaut Euch auf alle Fälle auch die Kommentare an. Es lohnt sich.
The preacher man says it’s the end of time
And the Mississippi River she’s a goin’ dry
The interest is up and the Stock Markets down
And you only get mugged
If you go down town
I live back in the woods, you see
A woman and the kids, and the dogs and me
I got a shotgun rifle and a 4-wheel drive
And a country boy can survive
Country folks can survive
I can plow a field all day long
I can catch catfish from dusk till dawn
We make our own whiskey and our own smoke too
Ain’t too many things these ole boys can’t do
We grow good ole tomatoes and homemade wine
And a country boy can survive
Country folks can survive
Because you can’t starve us out
And you cant makes us run
Cause one-of- ‘em old boys raisin ole shotgun
And we say grace and we say Ma’am
And if you ain’t into that we don’t give a damn
We came from the West Virginia coalmines
And the Rocky Mountains and the and the western skies
And we can skin a buck; we can run a trot-line
And a country boy can survive
Country folks can survive
I had a good friend in New York City
He never called me by my name, just hillbilly
My grandpa taught me how to live off the land
And his taught him to be a businessman
He used to send me pictures of the Broadway nights
And I’d send him some homemade wine
But he was killed by a man with a switchblade knife
For 43 dollars my friend lost his life
Id love to spit some beechnut in that dudes eyes
And shoot him with my old 45
Cause a country boy can survive
Country folks can survive
Cause you can’t starve us out and you can’t make us run
Cause one-of- ‘em old boys raisin ole shotgun
And we say grace and we say Ma’am
And if you ain’t into that we don’t give a damn
We’re from North California and south Alabam
And little towns all around this land
And we can skin a buck; we can run a trot-line
And a country boy can survive
Country folks can survive

I was raised by the good book,
learned to work hard every day
Thought that if you can’t say something good
there’s nothing good to say
And I caught on pretty early it’s no use to work
no harder than you play
So I guess that’s how I ended up this way
[Chorus]
Somewhere betwen raising hell and amazing grace
Is a place I keep finding myself
Yeah I get a little crazy tyring to have a little fun
Then I end up back where I started from
Down on my knees, I pray
Oh Lord let me see another day
Somewhere between raising hell and amazing grace
Well I give everything I got, try to give more than I take
For Heaven’s sake I keep on smiling
no matter what comes my way
And I may be passin’ out on Friday night
By come Sunday I’ll be passing the collection plate
[Repeat Chorus]
Yeah I know I’m a sinner, but I’ve got faith
Oh my good side is what he’s gonna see
When I’m standing at them Pearly Gates
He’ll have nothing but mercy for me
[Repeat Chorus]
Somewhere betweeen raising hell and amazing grace
